Getting started
Projects
A project (a Gemini Gem or Project, a ChatGPT Project, a Claude Project) is a container that persists across chats: your files, a standing instruction block, and increasingly a memory.
What goes where
| Put it in the project | Put it in the chat |
|---|---|
| The SOP, the instruction, the style guide | Today's question |
| The template that "good" looks like | The specific draft you want reworked |
| Standing instructions: reader, tone, format, "say when you're unsure" | One-off constraints for this task |
| Reference tables you cite constantly | Anything you only need once |
A worked example (exercise)
- Create a project. Load a real SOP or style guide.
- Ask for a draft memo on a task the SOP covers.
- Then ask: "List every sentence in the draft that is not supported by the loaded document."
- Read that list. That is the difference between grounding and invention, in your own material.
