Live status of every study

The four studies I run on supercomputers and at home, in order of priority: weather, space, machine learning and language models. Each line comes from the job desk, which reads every job of ours on the supercomputer, and the pages refresh themselves every 15 minutes.

Studies

  1. Weather: nowcasts, true color and radar featuresA100 and H100 nodes A radar nowcast for the next hour, true-color satellite pictures, a new model that marks dangerous storm features on Doppler radar, and a six-hour nowcast whose data is filling. Forecast writing, a language model for forecast discussions, is part of this study.

  2. Space: orbits and the upper atmosphereCPU nodes and MI300A nodes What the public satellite catalog can measure: the density of the upper atmosphere from how orbits decay, close passes and their collision chances, and how each object behaves.

  3. Machine learning: how small transformers learn to composeA100 and H100 nodes Small transformers trained from scratch, to learn when writing out intermediate steps lets a model combine operations into combinations it never saw.

  4. Language models: the referee and the cleanerA100 nodes Two open models: a referee that checks a paper's claims by recomputing them, and a cleaner that removes the habits of machine-written prose without changing a number.
